Did you know that we have several industry leading innovations & patents?
Finnchain signifies a strong capability in the chain field, for the special support of environmental technology applications. Our whole operation, from the design of the product to its service free practice is reflective of our strict way in realising our clients’ hopes and requirements professionally, reliably, persistently and broadly. We offer reliable, low-maintenance system, comprising of the latest technology in the field.
SOLUTIONS
Sedimentation
Finnchain scraper systems are originally developed for wastewater treatment and particularly for rectangular sedimentation tanks or clarifiers. In this key process, suspended solids are settled as sludge on the bottom of the tank by gravity. Scrapers are needed to remove this sludge further in the treatment process. Clarifiers can be circular as well, but based on study results, rectangular shape has some advantages.
Patented Notched-link chain
Core component of our system that enables other innovative solutions to ensure trouble-free operation.
Wide selection of main components
Finnchain has developed chain & flight combinations for any kind of customer requirements. Chains are available in different materials, plastic, and stainless steel.
Operational safety
Design of our system gives us possibility to use a unique safety device, called Chain Watch
Finnchain has
over 250 installations
in double-deck tanks!
LAMELLA CLARIFIERS
Wide selection of main components
Lamellas are used to enhance the sedimentation process by inclined plates or tubes placed in sedimentation tank, increasing the effective settling area. Finnchain scraper systems can be installed under these lamella plates.
-
Enhanced process needs a scraper system designed accordingly.
-
Enables the scraper system to remove the sludge efficiently even in the challenging and heavy conditions.
-
Protects the fully submersed scraper system, ensuring the operational reliability.
DOUBLE-DECK TANKS
Operational reliability
As the use of land / property needs to be efficient, sedimentation tanks at wastewater treatment plant can be constructed in multiple decks. The most common is double-deck, but it is not out of question to use even more. As in lamella tanks, also in these cases, maintenance and repair can be challenging and expensive, so the operational reliability of the scraper system is extremely important.
CIRCULAR TANKS
Totally submerged system
Sedimentation tanks can be also designed in circular shape. In most cases the settled sludge is scraped towards a hopper located in the center of the tank. Finnchain has a collector chain-based scraper system for circular tanks as well.
-
Easier to cover the tank.
-
Convenient to install and maintain.
-
Mostly plastic, GRP or stainless steel for corrosion resistance.
SOLUTIONS
Grit removal
Separation and removal of heavy inorganic solids, such as sand, gravel, and other mineral particles, is an essential step in wastewater treatment processes, as such particles can cause wear and damage to mechanical equipment downstream.

SOLUTIONS
DAF desalination
In Dissolved Air Flotation tanks pressurized air-saturated water is released into the flotation tank and thus large amount of fine air bubbles is created. Bubbles then attach to suspended particles, causing them to float on the surface and to be removed by surface skimmer. DAF is often used in pre-treatment phase of desalination process.

SURFACE SCUM REMOVAL
Finnflow
FinnFlow system enables scum removal from large areas using continuous, natural water flow. The most common applications of the FinnFlow® system are preliminary and secondary sedimentation tanks in which scraper flights transfer the sludge close to the FinnFlow® system. The water flow transfers the surface scum to a removal pipe, and clean water is transferred to overflow channels.
No energy needs, no motor
Self-adjusting on water level fluctuation
Easy to maintain.
SURFACE SCUM REMOVAL
Finnchain rotating scum pipe
We also manufacture conventional scum pipes for rectangular shaped tanks. Delivery includes slotted steel tube, bearings, sealings and turning mechanism. Material of construction of the pipe is stainless steel and it can be operated electrically or manually.
